Synqly Appoints Cybersecurity Veteran Doug Cahill as Strategic Advisor

Former Threat Stack CEO and ESG Senior Analyst to Help Drive Synqly’s Mission of Seamless Security Integration
SAN JOSE, Calif., June 25, 2025 – Synqly, the industry’s first integration platform built for cybersecurity, today announced the appointment of Doug Cahill as Strategic Advisor. Cahill, a cybersecurity industry veteran with over 25 years of experience across cloud, host, and network security domains, will provide strategic guidance as Synqly accelerates its mission to remove integration barriers in enterprise security. In this advisory role, Cahill will advise Synqly’s leadership on go-to-market strategy, leveraging his deep expertise in cybersecurity gained from a distinguished career.
“Doug deeply believes in our mission to reduce the barriers to product integration and enable a robust ecosystem for better security,” said Joel Bauman, Co-Founder and CEO of Synqly. “With decades of experience as an industry analyst and a business development leader, Doug brings a wealth of knowledge that will be instrumental as Synqly scales its platform. We’re thrilled to welcome him to the team.”
Cahill has built a career at the forefront of cybersecurity leadership. He served as CEO of Threat Stack, a pioneer in cloud workload security, and Vice President of business development at Bit9 (now VMware Carbon Black), where he helped bring innovative threat protection solutions to market. He also held senior roles at Signiant, AppIQ, and Hewlett-Packard, driving product strategy and strategic alliances across security and infrastructure domains. In 2015, Cahill joined TechTarget’s Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG). As the Senior Vice President of Analyst Services, he led ESG’s go-to-market consulting practice and a team of cybersecurity industry analysts, advising Fortune 500 clients on security trends and strategies over the past nine years. Cahill has remained active in the community as an advisor and mentor, working with cybersecurity startups and serving as a limited partner with venture firms focused on security innovation.
“The adoption of cybersecurity platforms has been hindered by a lack of third-party integrations, demand for best-of-breed controls, and the need for ease of deployment,” said Doug Cahill. “Synqly’s approach as an independent provider of a standards-based implementation is the right one for vendors and cybersecurity teams alike, one that streamlines integrations, enables critical use cases, and maintains customer choice. I am thrilled to join the Synqly team in an advisory capacity to help further this important mission in the cybersecurity industry.”
With Cahill’s added wealth of experience, Synqly continues to reinforce its commitment to building a more interoperable and resilient security ecosystem for its clients, alleviating the integration burdens that enterprises face, and offering a powerful and efficient alternative to the costly, time-consuming, and resource-intensive traditional integration methods. As cybersecurity ecosystems and compliance demands evolve rapidly, Synqly stands out by providing the innovative architecture necessary for businesses to create agile, secure, and cohesive integrated environments. Cahill’s expertise underscores the strategic importance of Synqly’s unified API and integration platform in transforming how enterprises address the integration challenges ahead.
