Synqly Customers Can Integrate with Azure DevOps Boards to Bring Microsoft Ticketing into Security and IT Workflows

We are announcing that a new integration is live within the Synqly ecosystem. As development and security teams increasingly share the same backlog, we stay focused on giving our OEM customers fast access to the work tracking systems their end users depend on. We have introduced Azure DevOps Boards as a supported ticketing provider. Vendor customers can now integrate with Azure DevOps Boards through the Synqly integration platform, which lets a security or IT product create, update, and read work items in Azure DevOps without building a direct Microsoft connector. This addition brings one of the most widely used enterprise work tracking tools into the same normalized ticketing workflow our customers already rely on, and it creates immediate value for end users who plan and track their work inside Azure DevOps.

What Is Azure DevOps Boards?

Azure DevOps Boards is Microsoft’s work item tracking service within Azure DevOps, used by software and IT teams to plan, track, and manage work through boards, backlogs, sprints, and work items. It is part of Microsoft’s broader development and cloud platform, and it serves as a system of record for engineering and operations work in many large organizations, particularly those already invested in the Microsoft and Azure ecosystem. Because so many enterprises coordinate their delivery work in Azure DevOps Boards, it holds the ticket and project data that security and IT products need when they open, update, or track issues for a customer. When you integrate with Azure DevOps Boards as a supported Synqly provider, that work item data becomes a standardized source of tickets and comments rather than a custom Microsoft connector each vendor has to build and keep running on its own.

What Can OEM Customers Do with the Azure DevOps Boards Integration?

Synqly customers can use this integration to perform core ticketing functions directly within their own products. Operating in the Ticketing category, the connector lets a vendor create a ticket, retrieve a specific ticket, patch or update an existing ticket, and query a list of tickets against a customer’s Azure DevOps project. Teams can also manage the discussion on each work item by creating a comment, listing all comments on a ticket, and deleting a comment when it is no longer needed. Because tickets are created and retrieved within the context of a specific project, the connector can list the projects available in a customer’s Azure DevOps organization, and it can list remote fields so a product can map its own data to the fields Azure DevOps expects across issue types. A set of attachment capabilities, including creating, downloading, and listing attachment metadata, is available in beta as it rolls out across ticketing providers. Because the ticket data is normalized through the Synqly unified API, a customer’s product can consume Azure DevOps work items without writing custom parsing for every field.

The practical value of this connector is that it lets our OEM customers support Azure DevOps Boards as a ticketing destination without committing an engineering team to building and maintaining a direct Microsoft connection. Synqly handles authentication and connection management, so product teams can focus on the workflows they deliver rather than on maintaining another ticketing API. When a security or IT product needs to raise or update an issue, it can open an Azure DevOps work item, add context, and track the response through the same interface it uses for every other ticketing provider. Azure DevOps Boards also joins a growing set of ticketing and notification sources, so customers can standardize on the Synqly Ticketing and Notifications connectors and add new providers from the same platform over time.

For OEM customers, this integration shortens the distance between a customer request and a shipped feature. When an end user manages their engineering work in Azure DevOps and asks whether your product can create and update work items there, you can answer yes without starting a new development effort. Synqly already handles the connector, the authentication, and the normalization, so enabling Azure DevOps Boards is a configuration step rather than a build. As more ticketing providers join the Synqly ecosystem, the same approach scales, and each new tool your customers ask for becomes another supported option rather than another backlog item.

Where to Find More Details

You will find detailed configuration steps and the available endpoints in the Azure DevOps Boards Configuration Guide within the Synqly documentation. We encourage current and prospective customers to explore how the ability to integrate with Azure DevOps Boards can strengthen their product offerings. You can also browse the full set of supported providers on our integration partners page to see how Azure DevOps Boards fits alongside the rest of the Synqly ticketing ecosystem.
