Synqly Launches GRC Integration Category With Secureframe Integration

GRC is a new connector category on Synqly, and the Secureframe integration is the provider opening it. Every other announcement in this series has added a partner to a category that already existed. This one is different because it establishes governance, risk, and compliance as a category in its own right, alongside Synqly’s existing coverage of vulnerabilities, identity, and ticketing.

Secureframe is a compliance automation platform that helps organizations reach and maintain certifications such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and PCI DSS, combining automated evidence collection, continuous control monitoring, and AI assisted risk management with expert support. For a security or IT product that already sits inside a customer’s stack, that compliance posture data has been effectively locked away in a separate tool, visible to the compliance team but invisible to the systems a security engineer actually watches day to day.

The Secureframe integration changes that by exposing compliance data as a first class connector rather than a report someone has to export by hand. An OEM product can query the compliance controls, tests, and frameworks Secureframe tracks for a customer, along with the evidence artifacts collected against them, filtering by control name, vendor code, or assessment status. It can also query the compliance state of every device and every person Secureframe monitors, returned as OCSF Compliance Findings, which puts device and personnel compliance status in the same normalized shape a product already uses for other finding types elsewhere in its pipeline. Individual lookups are available too, through get calls for a specific control, device, person, or test by ID, for a product that already knows exactly which record it needs rather than wanting the full list. The full set of supported operations and authentication steps is documented as part of the GRC Connector Overview on the Synqly documentation site.

A typical use of that data looks less like continuous monitoring and more like answering a specific question under time pressure. An auditor asks for evidence that access reviews happened on schedule for the last quarter, or a customer’s security questionnaire asks whether a specific control, encryption at rest, for instance, is currently passing across the environment. A product that has queried Secureframe’s controls and evidence ahead of time can answer both questions immediately, pulling the relevant compliance test results and evidence artifacts rather than asking a human to log into Secureframe separately and export a report. For a GRC focused product built on top of that data, or a broader security platform that wants to add compliance status as one more column next to its own findings, the integration turns what used to be a manual export into a query it can run whenever the question comes up.

This is Secureframe’s first integration within the Synqly ecosystem, and because GRC is a brand new category, it is also the first provider Synqly supports in that category overall. Full details on the Secureframe integration partner page cover every operation in the connector.

The case for treating compliance data as its own connector category rather than folding it into an existing one comes down to what that data actually represents. A vulnerability finding says a system has a specific technical weakness. A compliance finding says whether a control an auditor will eventually ask about is currently passing, and those two questions do not always have the same answer for the same asset. A device can be fully patched and still fail a configuration control, or pass every automated compliance test while sitting on a vulnerability that has not been scored yet. Products that only see one side of that picture end up giving customers an incomplete view of their actual risk, however good the underlying detection is.

For OEM vendors building governance, risk, and compliance features into a broader security or IT product, and for compliance-focused products looking to enrich their own findings with technical context, the Secureframe integration is the first entry point into that data through Synqly. As the GRC category grows to include additional compliance automation platforms, the same connector code a product team writes for Secureframe today will carry forward to whatever Synqly adds next, which is the same argument that has justified every other Unified API category Synqly has built, applied here to a category that did not exist on the platform until now.
